Langit sore yang cerah mewarnai langkah kaki saya saat menuju ke sebuah masjid tua penuh dengan sejarah, dan menyimpan jejak panjang peradaban Islam dan budaya Betawi. Ya, sore itu saya berada di Masjid Al Alam Marunda, yang juga dikenal sebagai Masjid Si Pitung, merupakan salah satu masjid tertua di Jakarta Utara. Terletak di Jalan Marunda No.19, RT. 003 RW. 07 Kelurahan Marunda, Kec. Cilincing, Jakarta Utara. Masjid ini tidak hanya menjadi tempat ibadah, tetapi juga saksi bisu perjalanan sejarah dan budaya masyarakat pesisir Jakarta.
Dibangun pada abad ke-17, Masjid Al Alam Marunda konon didirikan oleh pasukan Mataram Islam di bawah pimpinan Sultan Agung Hanyokrokusumo. Masjid ini menjadi simbol penyebaran agama Islam di wilayah pesisir Jakarta dan menjadi pusat kegiatan dakwah para ulama di masa lampau.
Arsitektur Unik dan Penuh Sejarah
Masjid Al Alam Marunda memiliki arsitektur yang unik dan mencerminkan kekhasan budaya maritim. Bangunan masjid terbuat dari kayu jati dengan atap tumpang tiga yang terbuat dari sirap. Bentuk atapnya menyerupai perahu terbalik, melambangkan kedekatan masyarakat dengan laut.
Memasuki ruang utama masjid, suasana tenang dan damai langsung menyelimuti. Cahaya matahari sore yang menembus jendela masjid menerangi ruangan, menyinari mimbar kayu berukir indah dan mihrab yang menghadap kiblat.
Di bagian depan masjid terdapat serambi yang luas, berfungsi sebagai tempat shalat jamaah jika masjid penuh.
Sembari menunaikan ibadah Ashar,, saya merasakan ketenangan dan kedamaian yang mendalam. Masjid Al Alam Marunda bukan hanya tempat ibadah, tetapi juga oase spiritual yang menyejukkan jiwa.

Masjid Al Alam Marunda tak lepas dari legenda Si Pitung, seorang jawara Betawi yang terkenal dengan kisah heroiknya. Konon, Si Pitung sering bersembunyi di masjid ini ketika dikejar oleh kompeni Belanda.
Keberadaan Masjid Al Alam Marunda tidak hanya menarik bagi umat Islam, tetapi juga wisatawan yang ingin mempelajari sejarah dan budaya Jakarta. Masjid ini menjadi simbol keharmonisan antara nilai-nilai religius dan budaya masyarakat pesisir Jakarta.

Menurut legenda, terdapat dua sumur tua di halaman masjid: Sumur Air Asin dan Sumur Air Tawar. Sumur Air Asin dipercaya memiliki khasiat penyembuhan bagi berbagai penyakit. Konon, air sumur ini dapat menyembuhkan penyakit kulit, pencernaan, dan bahkan reumatisme.
Sementara itu, Sumur Air Tawar dipercaya memiliki khasiat untuk meningkatkan kekuatan dan kekebalan tubuh.
Konon, para pendekar dan jawara Betawi di masa lampau sering minum air dari sumur ini untuk memperkuat diri sebelum bertarung.
Legenda dua sumur ini tak lepas dari sosok Si Pitung, sang jawara Betawi yang terkenal dengan kisah heroiknya. Konon, Si Pitung dan para anak buahnya sering berlindung di Masjid Al Alam Marunda ketika dikejar oleh kompeni Belanda.
Di sanalah mereka memanfaatkan air dari dua sumur tersebut untuk menyembuhkan luka dan memulihkan stamina. Konon, Si Pitung dan para anak buahnya juga menggunakan air sumur untuk membuat ramuan khusus yang membantu mereka dalam perjuangan melawan kompeni Belanda.
Meskipun legenda tentang dua sumur ini masih diselimuti misteri, keberadaan sumur-sumur tersebut tetap dilestarikan hingga saat ini. Sumur-sumur ini menjadi bagian dari sejarah dan budaya Masjid Al Alam Marunda, dan masih digunakan oleh masyarakat sekitar untuk berbagai keperluan.
